The photo on the left is a picture of me in the middle of sixth grade. And the one on the right? That’s what I look like now!
Honestly I think I look EXTREMELY different. I got braces, dyed my hair red, and I grew five inches this year!!
But my physical apperance isnt the only thing that has changed. My personality, happiness, and confidence level has definitely changed…. for the better too!!!
It really feels like I took that 6th grade photo ages ago! It’s kind of embarrassing to be honest.😂 But even though so much has changed this past year I will still always love pizza.
Hug O’ War
I will not play at tug o’ war.
I’d rather play at hug o’ war,
Where everyone hugs
Instead of tugs,
Where everyone giggles
And rolls on the rug,
Where everyone kisses,
And everyone grins,
And everyone cuddles,
And everyone wins.
–Shel Silverstein
I really like this poem because to me, it shows that there doesn’t have to be any fighting in the world. There can be a world where everyone does giggle, and everyone wins. You have the choice to be the person you are– the person that can change the world. So what are you going to play? Tug o’ war or hug o’ war?!
Everyone has their favorite childhood show. Most people’s would probably be Dora, Teletubbies, Blues Clues, or something along those lines. For me though, my favorite childhood show was Clifford the Big Red Dog.
Clifford was one of my favorite shows as a younger kid! I used to pretend that Emily Elizabeth (Clifford’s owner) and I were best friends and we would play with Clifford and all the other dogs. I always remember singing along to the theme song when the show came on.
I remember having a Clifford and Emily Elizabeth book with a built in dialing pad on the side. You would “call” the different numbers written on each page for a different message. It was just them saying things like “you’re great,” and “Hi! I’m Emily Elizabeth!” and other sayings just like that. And I always seemed to get a kick out of it. I also had a big Clifford stuffed animal. I don’t remember it too well because I had it so young, but from what my mom told me, I absolutely loved that thing.
Even though I’m a little sad the show was ended, it will always be a big part of my childhood!
There are so many apps that are available today. Most of them are ok, but there are those special ones that I don’t think I could live without! They’re just downright amazing
Let’s take YouTube for instance. YouTube is the most helpful, fun app ever. You can search up tutorials for how to make and build things. But thats not exactly why YouTube is my favorite app. It’s mainly for the Youtubers. Joey Graceffa, Shaytards, Miranda Sings, The Fine Bros and so many more that know how to brighten my day!
Quizlet is my favorite school app. You can make your own “quizzes” that help you study for an actual quiz or test. I feel that if I didn’t use quizlet, I would do poorly on most of my bigger grades.
The next app is more of an addiction because I use it more than I should. In fact, I can’t live without it! It’s a way for me to talk with friends, like ootd (outfit of the day) and laugh at funny tumblr posts.
Another one of my favorite apps is Netflix. I’m pretty sure that every teenager in America would agree with me. I would mostly only watch “Jem and the Holograms” but it consumed most of my weekends. I swear I would only watch one episode (no more like 78.) But, when I would go downstairs it would already be dinnertime!
My last favorite app is one that wouldn’t most likely be on your favorite apps list. The weather app. I use it to determine if I’m going to be wearing shorts or jeans. Or if I need an umbrella or hat (sometimes both.) And you can catch me smiling if I find out there won’t be any school at all! Also in the winter I like looking at other cities to see if it’s snowing or it’s another great day for the beach.
These are only five of my favorite apps but there are so many more to be discovered! So I would like to know, what is one of your favorite apps? Leave your response in the comments below!
Colors dance across the room. It seems as though there is no end to this wonderful store. Store assistants are dressed in crazy costumes everywhere! There are so many places to see and go in Austin, but if I were to go anywhwere it would definitely be Lucy and Disguise.
If you don’t know what Lucy in Disguise is, it’s a funky costume shop and rental in the downtown area of Austin, Texas. So the most obvious reason I would love that store is because of all the costumes! Every single costume you could ever imagine is there! From greek goddesses to creepy clowns. Super heros to disney characters. It has every character thats ever exsisted. And you dont even have to buy the costume. You can rent it for less money and return it after halloween or whatever party you are going to is over, so you won’t have a costume you dont need lying around.
Another reason why Lucy in Disguise is my favorite place to go ot because of their awesome accecories. They have so many fabulous wigs and jewlery. They are every different color possible. Their shoes are crazy too! I can gladly say that everything is over the top there, but definitely in a good way!
I don’t go there all the time, but when I do it’s always a joy! So if your ever in the Austin area, be sure to check it out!
This is just a short introductory clip of my favorite youtuber, Bunny!! Bunny is a young adult who lives in Texas. She started making youtube videos after she had been in a car accident. She is enjoyable to watch and really good at making videos and connecting to people even through a computer screen. Her signature trademark is her bright red lipstick. I love her wide range of videos; from thrift hauls– to “does this thing really work” videos, where she tests out infomercial products. One of my favorites is her “follow me around” videos where she basically takes us shopping with her. She is so funny and inspirational, and has given me a new perspective of the way I think. So go check out her channel Grav3yardgirl .
Today I had an Interview with my brother over all of the things that he likes. His name is Christian and he is a firecracker!!!
(All of these answers came out of HIS mouth)
Me: What do like to do in your free time, and why do you like to do it?
Christian: I like playing Minecraft because the creators of Mojang made it so you can make your own world and share it with your friends and other people.
Me: What is your favorite song?
Christian: that’s a hard one to choose… I kind of like Minecraft Hunger Games. *Starts singing the song*
Me: What is your favorite book?
Christian: The Poptropica game book. It really inspires me to play it, because its is just so cool. It teaches you everything about all the worlds. Guess what, sometimes it even gives you hints, Carmen!!!!
Me: What is your favorite food?
Christian: I like Pizza. It tastes really good, and you can add things to it. You can start out with a normal pizza and upgrade it with toppings like pepperoni and stuff.
Me: Last but not least, what is your favorite color?
Christian: I like the color blue because it makes me feel happy inside. At school we have a chart of what color make us feel happy and sad and stuff like that, and when I feel happy I say I’m feeling blue. Because that’s what I put down on my chart for what color makes me happy.
I know a lot of guys that are pretty obsessed with football, it’s not really my cup of tea. Anyway, don’t get me wrong I have nothing against football, but it doesn’t make sense to me. It’s just a pretty stupid sport in my opinion.
First of all, why is such a big deal that grown men are throwing themselves on other men just to get a small leather ball? And that is basically what the sport consists of… for the whole entire game. Basically the Whistle blows, tackle. The players get back into starting position. Whistle blows again, Tackle. Players get back into position, this time 5 inches from where they started. Whistle blows one more time, tackle. This continues until the small timer on the T.V. goes off.
Other than men lunging their selves onto others, all they do is throw the ball back and forth. I mean I might as well record my brother and I throwing a ball around in the backyard, and to me that would be just as amusing. The whistle blows and the the thrower throws the ball halfway down the field, and what happens? A terrible catch. This seems to happen a lot through the game, for both teams.
Maybe I just don’t like watching bad games, and maybe its just me; But overall, I still think football is pretty lame.
Finally The Fault in Our Stars trailer come out! ! !
The Fault in Our Stars is a book written by the beloved John Green. It features a 16 year old girl named Hazel, as she battles her way through her life with cancer. She is forced to go to a support group, where she meets Augustus Waters. After their meeting the spend most of their time together.
I recently read the book about 2 months ago, and have been in love with it ever since! When the trailer came out I was BEYOND excited, and I think I’ve watched it about 12 times ! I am so excited– so i’ve said the past 3 times.
I recommend this book for any in 7th grade and up because of the wide range of vocabulary, and it is a very emotional subject.
Tell me if you’ve read the book, and what your thoughts are on it!

A couple weeks ago I went to go see the movie Frozen, and It was amazing! The characters were amazing and had such great personalities. The animation was also terrific. The song were my favorite part, they’re so catchy, I still can’t stop singing them. Some of my favorite actors/singers were in it, like Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, and Jonathan Groff. There were also some great actors I hadn’t heard of, like Josh Gad, and Santino Fontana.
Overall, I thought this was a fantastic movie, an I will defenatly be getting it when it comes out on DVD!
